Most extensions are applied to the upper lashes, or sometimes the lower lashes, and can be customised based on your natural lash strength, thickness, and eye shape — ensuring no damage to your natural lashes.

Your Guide to Classic, Hybrid & Volume Eyelash Extensions
Lash extensions vary in length, curl, and thickness. Materials may include faux mink, sable, silk, or cashmere. At WOW LASH, we specialise in cashmere lashes, known for being ultra lightweight and dark, giving a soft yet defined finish similar to sable.
The best option depends on your natural lashes, your eye shape, and the look you’re trying to achieve. Thin or weak natural lashes may not support heavier styles, and some clients naturally have small gaps — which we can help camouflage using the correct technique.
There are three main application styles commonly chosen for eyelash extensions in Sydney:
1. Classic Lash Extensions
Technique
Classic lashes follow a one-to-one method — one extension applied to one natural lash.
The Look
Clean, defined and natural. They give a “mascara effect” without appearing overly full.

- Lightweight (0.12–0.15) and gentle
- Service time:1 hr – 1 hr 30 mins
- Lower cost compared to hybrid or volume

2. Hybrid Lash Extensions
Technique
Hybrid lashes mix classic extensions with volume fans, usually in a 70:30 ratio. Fans are placed where density is needed, and classics provide structure.
The Look
Textured, balanced, fuller than classic but softer than full volume.
Advantages
- Offers both fullness and definition
- Highly customisable for different eye shapes
- Great transition from classic to volume
- Helps camouflage gaps naturally
Disadvantages
- Mid-range cost
- Slightly longer appointment time, but they often last longer than classic
- May look uneven when classic lashes shed first
Best for: clients wanting noticeable but not dramatic lashes, or those with mildly sparse natural lashes.
3. Volume / Russian Volume Lash Extensions
Technique
Volume lashes use fans of 2–6 ultra-lightweight extensions (0.05–0.07) applied to one natural lash. At WOW LASH, all fans are handmade by our experienced artists.

Full, fluffy, glamorous, and customisable from soft volume to bold density. Perfect for events, special occasions, birthdays, weddings, or for clients who love a fuller everyday look.
Advantages
- Creates significant fullness, even with sparse natural lashes

- Fans fill gaps and maintain a fuller look longer
- Very lightweight due to fine cashmere materials
Disadvantages
- Longer application time (2–3 hours)
- Highest cost of the three styles
- May be too dramatic for clients wanting a soft look
Best for: clients who love density, fluffiness, or who need extra coverage for fine or sparse lashes.
